Do you collect my UCSD password or log into university systems?
No. We do not collect UCSD credentials or log in to any UCSD system on your behalf.
A TritonPath account uses Google or email. Nobody here can sign into MyTritonLink, WebReg, or your UCSD account. Transcripts and audits are used only if you upload a file or paste the text yourself.

How is my data secured?
Sign-in uses Google or email. Passwords are stored as a hash, not the password itself. Reviews and reports are stored with a one-way code, not your account id.
Letter grades and home / dorm never leave this browser. Signed-in plans sync over HTTPS. Looking at the database alone cannot show who wrote a review. Vendors only get what they need to run their part of the product.

Who can see my data?
Your signed-in plan (college, courses, scheduler drafts) is for you. Other students cannot browse it. Letter grades and home / dorm stay on this device and are not in TritonPath’s database.
Other signed-in students can read reviews, not your name. Professors and UCSD do not get a mapping of who wrote which review. Vendors (Supabase, Vercel, Google, FormSubmit, Upstash, OpenStreetMap / CARTO) only receive what they need to run their part of the product.

Are my letter grades stored on TritonPath’s servers?
No. Progress letter grades and the GPA tab stay on this device. They do not sync to another phone or browser.
If you import a transcript, a letter can mark a course completed. The letter itself is then kept on your device only — not in the database.

What is saved when I sign in?
Your email, optional display name (Profile only — not shown on reviews), college, major(s), minor(s), courses on your plan (without letter grades), Scheduler drafts, and any reviews you submit.
You can sign in with Google or with email (login link or password). That is what lets GradPlan and Scheduler follow you to another device.
Your plan
Can other students see that I wrote a review?
No. Other signed-in students can read the ratings and text. They do not see your name, email, or account id.
You will see Edit / Delete on your own review. That flag is only for you.
Reviews
Can professors or UCSD look up who reviewed them?
We do not share a review-to-student mapping with professors or the university.
Reviews are stored with a one-way code, not your account id, so a database dump without TritonPath’s server secret cannot be joined to your email.

Can I use TritonPath without signing in?
Yes. Guests can browse Catalog, Progress, Gradplan, Map, and Graph. That plan stays in this browser until you sign in and sync. Guests cannot use Scheduler.
Signed-in students who do not want a cloud copy can choose this during first-sign-in setup, or later in Profile → Keep plan on this device. We keep the account and delete the rest from the database. Writing reviews is off in that mode.

What is the difference between saving my plan to the account and keeping it on this device?
Saved to your account is the usual option. Gradplan, Scheduler, college, and major live in TritonPath’s database so they follow you to another device. You can write reviews.
This browser only keeps the email account and deletes the cloud copy. The plan stays in this browser, will not sync, and writing reviews is off. Clearing this site’s data loses it. Letter grades and home / dorm stay on this device in both modes. Switch later in Profile.

How do I delete my data?
Signed-in: Profile → Delete account removes the cloud copy if any, the copy in this browser (including letter grades and home / dorm), scheduler drafts, reviews, and reports.
Guest plans: clear this site’s data in your browser.

Is TritonPath an official UC San Diego tool?
No. TritonPath is an independent student-built planner. It is not UCSD, not a school official, and not a substitute for WebReg, MyTritonLink, or advising.

Do you sell my data or show ads?
No. TritonPath does not sell personal information, does not use it for advertising, and does not send marketing mail. Vercel Analytics is for aggregate traffic and speed, not ads.

What if a requirement or class time is wrong?
Treat TritonPath as unofficial. Report issues through Contact. Always verify against UCSD sources before you act on a plan.

How is my data used?
TritonPath uses it to run the planner: catalog, Progress, GradPlan, Scheduler, Graph, Map, and reviews. Signing in also saves your plan so it can follow you to another device.
If you import a transcript, the file is used to extract course lines — then the PDF is discarded. Hosting and analytics see traffic so the site stays up. Sign-in and password-reset mail go through Supabase when you ask. TritonPath does not sell your information, use it for ads, or send marketing mail.

What are the rules for writing reviews?
Reviews should be about the class and teaching. Do not include another student’s name, email, or student id. Do not try to unmask other reviewers. Do not submit fake or automated reviews.
TritonPath may hide a review after reports. A report stores a short reason with a one-way code, not your name. You can edit or delete your own.
