Privacy Policy
Last updated August 12, 2026
This policy explains what TritonPath collects, why, and what you can do about it. TritonPath is an independent student-built planning tool. It is not UC San Diego and is not an official university record.
1. About TritonPath
TritonPath is the web app at tritonpath.com. Questions about this policy: the contact form or judahworkflow@gmail.com.
2. Information collected
What is stored depends on how you use the app.
Account
If you sign in, TritonPath stores the email address you use, and a display name if you set one. Google sign-in is handled by Google; TritonPath receives the account identifiers Google shares for that login (typically email and a provider user id).
Your plan
Signed-in plans are saved to TritonPath’s database so they sync across devices. That can include:
- College, major(s), minor(s), expected graduation term, transfer / IGETC flags, and interest tags
- Courses you add (planned, in progress, or completed), terms, grades you enter or import, and AP credit
- Scheduler drafts: cart, section picks, lock/hide flags, colors, and busy times you add
- Import history metadata such as filename, file size, institution, and how many courses were applied — not the original PDF file
Guest use
You can browse and plan without an account. Guest Gradplan, Scheduler drafts, saved courses, theme, and similar preferences stay in your browser (localStorage). Guest plans are not sent to TritonPath unless you later sign in and sync, or you submit them through Contact.
Transcript and audit imports
If you upload a PDF or paste transcript / degree-audit / AP text, TritonPath servers extract course lines so you can apply them to your plan. The original PDF is not kept. Parsed course rows (including grades if they were in the file) and the import metadata above may be kept. Only upload records you are allowed to use.
Contact messages
The contact form sends your name, email, and message through FormSubmit so a reply can be sent.
Technical and usage data
Hosting and analytics providers may receive IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and performance timings. Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights are used for aggregate traffic and speed — not ads. Server logs may briefly include request metadata for security and debugging (for example rate limits).
3. How information is used
- Provide the planner: catalog, Progress, Gradplan, Scheduler, and Graph
- Authenticate you and keep your plan saved
- Parse imports you submit and apply matched courses when you confirm
- Respond to messages you send
- Keep the service reliable, understand usage, and fix bugs
- Comply with law or protect the service when required
TritonPath does not sell your personal information, and does not use it for advertising.
4. Who it is shared with
Data is shared with vendors who run the product, only as needed for that job:
- Supabase — accounts, sessions, and saved planner data
- Vercel — hosting, Analytics, and Speed Insights
- Google — optional Google sign-in, and fonts loaded from Google Fonts
- FormSubmit — delivering contact-form messages
Information may also be disclosed if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or if the project is transferred and the new operator continues the same kind of service.
5. Cookies and similar storage
- Sign-in cookies — required to keep you logged in (Supabase session)
- Theme cookie / localStorage — remembers foam vs abyss so the page does not flash
- Browser localStorage — guest plans, Scheduler drafts, and UI preferences
Vercel Analytics is designed to work without advertising cookies. You can clear site data in your browser to remove guest plans and preferences. Signing out ends the session cookie.
6. How long it is kept
Account and plan data stay until you delete your account or the service is closed. Guest data stays on your device until you clear it. Contact messages are kept long enough to reply. Logs and analytics are kept only as long as needed for operations.
7. Your choices
- Access and edit — your plan and profile are in the app; change them there
- Delete account — Profile → Delete account removes your profile, courses, and scheduler data
- Guest data — clear this site’s storage in your browser
- Google sign-in — you can disconnect TritonPath from your Google account settings
If delete fails or you cannot sign in, use Contact and a reply will be sent as reasonably possible.
8. Children
TritonPath is meant for college students and other adults. Personal information from children under 13 is not knowingly collected. If you think that has happened, use Contact and it will be deleted.
9. California privacy
TritonPath does not sell or share personal information for cross-context advertising. California residents may request to know, correct, or delete personal information held by TritonPath, subject to legal exceptions. Use Profile delete for account data, or Contact for a request that cannot be completed in-app. Exercising those rights will not result in discrimination.
10. Education records
TritonPath is not UC San Diego and is not a school official. If you import a transcript or audit, you are choosing to send that information to an independent tool. Treat it as private account data. It is not an official university record, and TritonPath is not a substitute for MyTritonLink, WebReg, or advising.
11. Changes
This policy may be updated. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy. Material changes will be posted on this page.
